How Laser Printer and Printer’s Components Work
Have you ever wondered how a laser beam in laser printers, set the text or images on a paper? We will learn about this interesting printing techniques in this article.
Laser printing is based on the principle of static electricity is based, built the electric charge on an isolated bodies. Two objects with opposite static electric charges attract each other. A laser printer uses this phenomenon as a kind of "temporary glue". The basic components of a laser printer area photo-receptor of a rotating cylinder or drum made out high photo-conductive material.
At the beginning, a wire (called the charge corona wire) with electric current running through them gives a positive charge on the drum. Some of the printers and also a charged roller instead of a corona wire. A laser beam then hits the surface of the roller drum and discharges in some respects. This is how it draws the letters and pictures are printeda pattern of electrical charges.
After the end of the process of determining the charge pattern on the drum, it is coated with positively charged toner powder. The powder clings because of the positive charge on it, at the laid-off part of the drum, and not to the rest of the drum (positively charged).
The desired pattern is thus placed on the drum. Now it is the job for the printer and printer to produce the paper. The transfer corona wire gives a negative charge onthe paper before it rolls under the drum. This negative charge is larger than that on the laser hit points of the drum, and thus the positively charged toner powder adhering to the drum sticks to the paper. Since the paper and the drum moves at the same speed, the pattern on the drum is accurately transferred to the paper. The separation corona wire immediately discharges the negative charge on the paper so that the paper is separated from the positively chargedDrum.
Did you see how your laser printer is not so much in such a small period of time?

| Review by Maggie B (Raleigh, NC) 2009-08-30 I bought this machine used, advertised as working fine. I was not disappointed. It chugs away, doing what it was built to do very well. I will admit, I wanted to get one of the Canon models that could be set up to print directly on inkjet-printable CD's, and the 6600D can be enabled to do so with the purchase of a Canon CD tray "C." | Review by Rowriver (Oregon) 2009-02-14 This printer is a mess. Yes, it's inexpensive (mine was free with rebate). But it's your classic loss leader, "razor and blade" model - give the printer (razor) away, stick it to the customer on cartridges (blades). Canon software for this printer is programmed to reject refilled cartridges, even good ones. The printer routinely breaks in some ... Read more Canon Pixma iP1800 reviews | ||

This printer will recognize and pair with a phone, but NOT a computer. If you do want to hook it to your computer make sure to buy, yes, buy a standard USB cable as one in not included. | ||
